Michael Law, Assistant Professor, University of British Columbia, compares Canadian generic drug prices to those found in New Zealand and the United States to demonstrate the potential for additional savings in Canada. Law argues that replacing arbitrary price regulations with a system of generic tendering would lead to lower generic prices. Law addresses common criticisms of tendering, including the potential for drug shortages and pharmacy closures.
