Boeing gets a large order from Qatar Airways

By Dr. Kyle Muller

The crisis-plagued US aircraft manufacturer Boeing received a major order when visiting President Trump on the Golf: Qatar Airways ordered long-haul aircraft for $ 96 billion-according to Trump, the biggest order in Boeing history.

During the visit of US President Donald Trump in Qatar, the US government announced a major order from the GulfMirat for the battered aircraft manufacturer Boeing. The airline Qatar Airways agreed with Boeing the delivery of “up to 210” machines of the types 787 Dreamliner and 777x, the White House in Washington said.

The business has a size of $ 96 billion, i.e. around 86 billion euros. Trump, citing Boeing company boss Kelly Ortberg, said it was the biggest mission in Boeing’s history.

Trump signed the contracts on the side of Ortberg and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. In the meantime, Trump seemed to quantify the volume at $ 200 billion before the White House called the number of 96 billion.

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing in the crisis

Boeing has been in a crisis for years and recently remained in the orders behind the European rival Airbus. Most recently, China refused to accept new aircraft from the US manufacturer in the trade dispute with Trump.

The delivery of a first aircraft of the 777x family, which is to replace today’s 777 models, is planned for next year-six years later than announced. There were several years of delays during the development and at Boeing, orders for several hundred machines of the type have already been accumulated.

Trump: Aircraft deal safe 150,000 jobs

In total, according to the White House, Trump announced business agreements with Qatar of $ 243.5 billion. The aircraft deal alone in the United States more than 150,000 jobs in the United States, it said.

Trump has been in the Golf region since Tuesday and had many economic bosses at his side at the first stop in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi leadership announced billions of investments in the United States and also agreed with the American side on a large scale armaments.
