Conflict of Interest Policy
EvidenceNetwork.ca experts are chosen based on their standing in the health policy research/academic community, their publishing record and their ability to communicate in lay language. Experts are also asked to declare that they do not represent a political party and that they are not currently holding or vying for public office.
EvidenceNetwork.ca has also adopted the following policies regarding an expert’s relationship with pharmaceutical firms or other for-profit entities: no open-ended advisory/consulting positions with industry; any outside work with industry should be under a written contract held by an institute/institution; if the expert holds a contract with industry, he/she cannot be PI or co-PI on a project that evaluates any of that company’s products for 3 years and cannot write or talk about that company’s products for EvidenceNetwork.ca. All such relationships with industry which have existed in the last 3 years (or which are newly undertaken) shall be disclosed.
