Jane Hall is the Director of Strategy for the Centre and Professor of Health Economics in the UTS Business School. She was the founding Director of CHERE and held that position until 2012. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. She is currently leading the APHCRI funded Centre of Research Excellence in the finance and economics of primary care. Other current and recent work includes research on the nursing and medical workforces, issues around end of life care, and Health Technology Assessment. She is actively involved in policy analysis and critique. At this time, Australia has embarked on an ambitious program of health system reform; she is a regular commentator on health funding and organizational issues in Australia, both in the media and the academic press. Jane has represented Australia in many international health policy forums.
She is a member of the Board of the Bureau of Health Information; and a member of the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority. She is the Australian representative of the Harkness Fellowship in Health Policy and Practice; and Director of the Australian-American Health Policy Program. She is an Associate Editor of Health Economics, and of Health Policy.
