Michael AllanDr. G. Michael Allan (Mike) is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta and the Director of Evidence-Based Medicine. He has been in practice over 15 years and presently works at the Northeast Community Health Centre in Edmonton.

He has given over 150 presentations and published more than 75 articles. Mike is the Director of the Alberta College of Family Physicians Evidence and CPD Program including the provincial CME Roadshows. He participates in a weekly medical podcast on i-tunes and writes a regular evidence based update (called Tools for Practice) for the Alberta College of Family Physicians and the journal Canadian Family Physician. He also coordinates the Best Practice Support Visits, the largest academic detailing program in Alberta, and co-coordinates the Practical Evidence for Informed Practice, the largest EBM conference in the province.
