Dr. Paul Kurdyak completed his medical school, psychiatry residency training, and PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. He is a Staff Psychiatrist and Director, Health Systems Research at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the Social and Epidemiological Research Program. His clinical work is in acute care general psychiatry in the CAMH Emergency Department. He is also Lead of the Mental Health and Addictions Research Program at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES). His main interests are mental health human resources and access to care, and the interaction between medical and psychiatric comorbidity.
Dr. Kurdyak is also involved in mental health system evaluation and performance measurement, and acts as a consultant to Health Quality Ontario and has been overseeing large, provincial mental health strategy evaluation in Ontario through engagement with key stakeholders from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and other ministries.
