Trump does not exclude recession in the USA

“America First” is Trump’s promise. But now there is fear that its leaking customs policy could plunge the United States into a recession. Trump’s Minister of Commerce excludes this – unlike the president himself.

US President Donald Trump has been pursuing an aggressive economic policy since taking office. In an interview with the right-wing TV station Fox News, he did not want to rule out that the measures could lead the United States to a recession. “I hate to predict things like this,” he said when asked whether he is expecting a decline in the economy.

“There is a transition period, because what we do is very big – we bring the prosperity back to America,” said Trump. “It takes a little time,” he added.

Trump’s Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick rejected corresponding speculation much more clearly. When asked whether the US citizens should prepare for an economic downturn, Lutnick told the broadcaster NBC: “absolutely not.”

Sling course by Trump unsettled

It was only on Thursday that Trump was back in the customs dispute with Mexico and Canada and had partially suspended the punitive tariffs against both countries. Trump’s Schlinger course has unsettled consumers in the United States because the most obvious effects of his customs policy are likely to affect prices in the United States.

The massively advanced personnel reduction in state authorities contributes to additional uncertainty by the US President and his advisor Elon Musk.

Increased Recession risk loud Economic experts

Analysts believe that the tariffs could plunge the largest economy in the world into a phase of high inflation and slow growth. With regard to Trump’s politics, the analysts of Goldman Sachs increased the probability of a recession from 15 percent to 20 percent in the next twelve months. The US risk capitalist Morgan Stanley predicted “weaker growth” for this year than expected before.

Chinese counter -tariffs have been working since today

The tariffs imposed by the US government triggered worldwide reactions – including in China. The second largest economy in the world imposed on many agricultural products from the USA that apply from today. Chicken, corn and grain is affected with 15 percent. A government spokesman in Beijing said Trump’s most recent tariffs “endanger the security and stability of the global supply chains”.
