Meetmetonight 2025 returns to Milan: two days of science, innovation and dialogue with research

On 26 and 27 September he returned to Milan MeetMetonight: two free days of science, workshops and shows at the State University.

On 26 and 27 September 2025 he returns to Milan MeetMetonight, the appointment dedicated to the scientific dissemination organized on the occasion of European night of researchers and researchers. This year the event takes place in the heart of the city, at theState University of Milan, in via Festa del Forgone 7, and promises two days of meetings, workshops, shows and activities free and open to all and all.

Meet and the European night: 20 years of science for citizenship

MeetMetonight is part of the European project Meet (Mission: Engagement and Education for Tomorrow), financed as part of the Horizon Europe-Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action program. The initiative involves the Milanese universities with the aim of bringing citizenship research closer and creating opportunities for comparison on the great scientific challenges of the present.

2025 also marks an important milestone: the 20th anniversary of the European night of the researchers and researchers, who will animate this year further 460 cities in 25 countries, with Milan protagonist thanks to MeetMetonight.

The thematic pavilions and activities

The heart of Mmt25 will be the Five thematic pavilions, inspired by the missions of the European Horizon Europe program. Only on Saturday 27 September they will be open to the public beyond 25 Interactive stands, to dialogue on the great themes of the European Union: from the fight against cancer to climate change, from the health of the soil to the protection of aquatic ecosystems, to the climatically neutral and intelligent cities.

Next to the pavilions, the program is enriched with different formats, designed to involve publics of all ages:

  • TALK – Short interventions on stage, in which researchers and researchers tell their studies and challenges of science with an accessible language.

  • Workshop – Practical workshops for girls, boys, teenagers and adults, to experience the scientific method through experiments, games and challenges.

  • Speed ​​Date – meetings “face to face” with doctorande and doctorals, to get to know their research paths up close.

  • EU Corner – A space to discover the projects financed by the European Union and their repercussions in daily life.

  • SHOWS – Moments that mix scientific and artistic languages, to tell science with creativity and involvement.

Three events not to be missed

  • “Adaptation” with Edoardo Croci and Valentina Bosetti (Bocconi University): an interactive path to transform awareness on climate change into concrete action, led by two of the most authoritative voices on environmental policies.

  • “Organ-chip organs for early diagnoses” with Marco Rasponi (Polytechnic of Milan): a stand that opens the doors to the new frontiers of biomedicine, showing how microchip models can revolutionize the fight against cancer.

  • “Citizen Science Lab” with Alessandra Lazazzara (Milan State University): a participatory laboratory involving citizens and citizens in the co-design of solutions for urban well-being, with the use of biosensors and creative activities.

A journey between science and participation

From Smart sensors to measure air quality to the activities of Citizen Science for urban well -being, come on 3D models that recreate the tumor micro -room for experiments on Microplastics and aquatic biodiversity, Meetmetonight 2025 offers a rich and interactive experience.

Each pavilion will be a meeting point between towns, citizens and protagonists of the research: geologists, biologists, engineers, psychologists, doctors and disseminates ready to answer questions, show tools and tell stories of science and innovation.
