Week of sexual well -being

By Dr. Kyle Muller

Know the sexualitya fundamental expression of the human being and an important component of the couple relationship means being able to live it fully and serenely.

So that it is functional to the pleasure and happiness of the couple, it must be given the due space, due attention, due care; In this sense the sexuality It is made of ingredients that go beyond coitus and should also be experienced as a relationship, communication, game, exchange of pleasure and privileged moment of intimacy.

Many couples, however, have sexual intercourse in which they declare that they are not really satisfied: it is very difficult for the sexuality Both a true sharing ground when the clash, hostility, struggle for power or to affirm one’s role are in the daily behaviors of the partners.

In these couples sex takes on the function of remedying quarrels and tensions or the reassuring function of being a proof of love in the couple is attributed to him. Finally, even more problematic is the situation in which there is no more sex among the partners and, usually, not even intimacy; This detachment, which arises from an emotional disengagement and feeds it, brings the two partners more and more distant from each other even in daily life.

THE Problems related to sexuality I am continuously increasing; Sex often resembles a test, a performance that, as such, requires competitiveness with oneself and with the partner. It is no coincidence that we speak of sexual performance.

The goal remains to achieve a result: erection, ejaculation, orgasm proper and partner and this will hardly bring the two partners to the pleasure and achieve their psychophysical well -being.

The sexual well -being It is a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well -being in relation to sexuality; It is not only the absence of a disorder or sexual dysfunction. The sexual well -being requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships; It is essential to get to aware choices that follow their personal motivations. It is important to rediscover the value of intimacy, listening to the other, of sexuality free from the anxiety of obtaining a result.

The Italian Federation of Scientific Sexology (Fisso) has decided to promote the new edition of the Week of sexual well -being to be held from 28 September to 3 October 2015 throughout Italy with events aimed at Promotion of sexual well -being.
